Personal Logo

A logo created for myself, representing who I am personally and creatively. The abstractness of the two letters, M and P depicts my personality and my imagination. The boldness, yet simplicity of the geometric figures represent the importance of thinking like a kid to obtain the most creative ideas and the simplicity and cleanliness of my designs

Architecture Magazine

For my Typography class, I designed an architecture magazine. The architecture pictures I selected are of modern buildings with structured lines. Therefore, the layout of the magazine and typography needed to represent the modernity and symmetry of the buildings. In order to do so, I focused on utilizing a serif typeface, and a lot of white space. Unlike most design processes, pictures were arranged around the type, putting emphasis on the beauty of the typeface.

Patterns in Wrapping Paper

After creating three different icons from the same category, in this case: heels, boots and sandals (footwear) an exploration of different patterns was carried out.

Hope and Water

I was given the ideas of water and hope and had to bring the two concepts together into a poster. The idea behind my design is the hope that water brings when it rains on a polluted metropolitan city. On the left side, there are grey buildings with a grainy texture representing the pollution in cities. In the middle, there is a “waterfall” effect to represent the rain and on the right side, white space is used to represent the cleaner air of cities after it rains

Logos by Malcolm Grear

After researching Malcolm Grear's logo designs over the years, a poster was designed. The goal was to integrate a short essay about the research into a poster where a minimum of three images needed to be used.

The decision to design a minimalistic poster was to allow the vibrant colors used by Malcolm Grear to stand out and let them speak for themselves first, then allowing the reader to focus on the text for further context.

Book Covers

I designed a book series after choosing three different artists. The three artists are all Spanish, hence embracing my nationality. The reason why the title, book series name, and author are in a colorful banner is that as the series is continued, when the books are placed side by side on a bookshelf a colorful wave movement will be created, making them stand out from the rest

Song Poster

In my graphic design class, we worked on a poster for our favorite song. I chose "The Less I Know the Better" by Tame Impala. The song is slow and has melancholic lyrics, however, it has a beat and melody that takes the listener back to the '80s. Hence, I tried to depict the feeling of the song by using a dark background, yet adding that 80's feel through the use of color in type

Letter Form Interacting With Environment

After building a 3D model of the letter "M" I proceded to investigate how the letter form interacts with the urban environment of Boston. It brought typography to life, giving me a new perspective on how written text relates in our day to day lives
